IMMEDIATE OPENING FOR POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW OR SENIOR RESEARCH
ASSOCIATE IN MUSCULOSKELETAL BIOMECHANICS and/or IMAGING
The Orthopaedic Biomechanics Lab at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and
Harvard Medical School in Boston has an immediate opening for a
post-doctoral research associate or senior research associate in the area of
musculoskeletal biomechanics and imaging.
A motivated and enthusiastic individual is needed to work on NIH-funded
studies that are aimed at understanding the biomechanical aspects of
skeletal fragility, in particular, the interaction between vertebral
fractures and functional spinal loading. The study involves analysis of CT
scans acquired as part of a large epidemiologic cohort of men and women aged
35 to 90 yrs (the Framingham Heart Study); and development of kinematic
models to assess functional loading in the spine. The project is highly
multi-disciplinary, with opportunity for interaction with investigators in
musculoskeletal and genetic epidemiology, osteoporosis, diabetes, and
imaging.
Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in biomedical or mechanical engineering,
medical image analysis, or a closely related field, OR possess a master¹s
degree and have prior research experience. Preference will be given to
applicants with a proven record in musculoskeletal research.
Applicants should apply by sending a cover letter outlining your research
experience and interests, resume, and the names of three references via
email to:
