The Effects of Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES)

Professor Tom Mercer and Dr Marietta van der Linden invite applications for a Multiple Sclerosis Society funded PhD studentship investigating "the effects of functional electrical stimulation (FES) on walking performance, fatigue, activity of daily living (ADL) and quality of life in people with MS". This studentship is available from January 2009 for a period of three years and provides an enhanced stipend starting at £16,853 per annum in the first year. Due to fee-funding restrictions, only UK citizens or EU citizens with UK resident status are eligible for this award. An exceptional individual, you will ideally have completed a relevant Master's degree (e.g. Physiotherapy, Human Movement Science, Clinical Biomechanics, Kinesiology) and have demonstrable experience of Human Movement Analysis.
