POSTDOCTORAL POSITION AVAILABLE IN EXPERIMENTAL JOINT TISSUE BIOMECHANICS
Research title: Mechanical vulnerability of the cartilage-bone tissues in the re-osteoarthritic joint
A one-year postdoctoral position is available in the area of cartilage-bone biomechanics and osteoarthritis research. The research is aimed at investigating microstructural and ultrastructural changes associated with early degeneration of the joint tissues and understanding how these changes influence their mechanical vulnerability.
The project is experimentally based and the successful appointee will be required to carry out detailed microstructural analysis and conduct micromechanical manipulations. Applicants should possess a high level of interpretive ability in the structural/micromechanical area.
The research will be conducted in the Biomaterials Research Laboratory which is part of the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering, University of Auckland, under the direction of Professor Neil Broom and Dr Ashvin Thambyah.
Salary: L1 on the lecturer scale(NZ$67,315 p.a.)
There is a need to fill this position as quickly as possible. Suitable applicants should email heir CV (including contact details of potential referees) promptly to:-
