Post-Doctoral or Pre-Doctoral Study in Biomedical Engineering at UT Austin:
The Nonlinear Biodynamics Lab anticipates having two funded positions available for Summer / Fall 2008 to study the biomechanics and motor control of human movement. One position will be for a Post-Doc and the other for a Ph.D. student. The specific projects will involve applying advanced computational modeling and experimental approaches to examine how movement coordination and dynamic stability are regulated during human walking. This project will have applications to understanding the basic neural and mechanical mechanisms which govern the control of walking and to understanding the root causes of falling.
Prior experience with computational modeling of human movement and/or analysis of biomechanical data (e.g., gait analysis) is strongly desired.
If you are interested in the Post-Doctoral position, please e-mail a letter of interest, a detailed CV (with the list of publications), and three names of colleagues who can be contacted for references to Jonathan Dingwell <jdingwell@mail.utexas.edu>.
If you are interested in joining the Biomedical Engineering Ph.D. Program, please e-mail a letter of interest, a detailed CV, GRE and TOEFL scores (if applicable) to both Jonathan Dingwell <jdingwell@mail.utexas.edu> and to Heidi Fagerlund <fagerlundhm@mail.utexas.edu> in the BME Department.
